SHOW RULES

These are ARBA and HLRSC sanctioned shows with the exception of the "Fun Show". All ARBA show rules will be observed.

All National Show entries must be postmarked on or before Saturday, March 14, 2009.  Entry fees must accompany the entry and be made payable to CHLC.

Ear number substitutions will be allowed at check-in in the same variety, class and sex only.  A substitution fee of $2.00 per animal will be charged. 

Substitutions changing the variety, class or sex of the animal will be accepted via email only.  These substitutions must be received by Friday, April 3^, 2009.  A substitution fee of $5.00 per animal will be charged.  Payment will be due upon check-in.

Sunday show substitutions will be allowed in the same class, sex, and variety only for a fee of $1.00 per animal.

This is a cooped show.  All rabbits entered must be cooped in the provided cooping and their coop # written in their ear.  All rabbits entered in fur will be judged in breed fur unless otherwise noted.

All rabbits must be entered in the show, or must be in a purchased “sale” coop.  Sale coops will be available for purchase.  There will be no rabbits left in show carriers.

There will be no rabbits permitted outside of the showroom on the York Expo Center Grounds.  This includes rabbits in vehicles in the parking lot.  Any exhibitor found to be keeping or selling rabbits from their vehicle will be asked to leave, and their entry will be forfeited.

Rabbits will be placed via coop # with the ear # being used for verification purposes only.  Please make sure that all rabbits have their coop # written in the rabbit’s right ear and a permanent legible tattoo in their left ear.

Check-in will start at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 17, 2009.  All rabbits must be checked-in by 9:00 pm and cooped by 10:00 pm.  The showroom will close at 10:00 pm on Friday.

No one is allowed in the showroom after hours unless designated by the show chairperson.

The showroom will open at 7:00 am on Saturday, April 18 and judging will commence at 8:00 am.  The showroom will close at 5:00 pm on Saturday.

On Sunday, the showroom will open at 7:00 am with checkout beginning at 7:30 am.  No rabbits will be allowed to leave the showroom before 7:30 am.  There will be a 50/50 auction starting at 8:00 am to benefit the 2010 Holland Lop Nationals.  The Sunday shows will start at 9:00 am.  All rabbits must be out of the showroom by 3:00 pm.

Runners will carry all rabbits entered in the National Show to and from the show table.  Exhibitors may not carry their own entries to the show table.  Please make sure that all coops are unlocked.  Locked coops will not be opened by the runners and the entry will be scratched.

Owners will be responsible for getting their own rabbits to and from the table in the Sunday specialty show and the fun show.  Classes will be called three times only.

All entry forms must be legibly completed, including name, address, ZIP code and telephone number. Please be sure you provide all necessary information for each rabbit entered.

Chesapeake Holland Lop Club will not be responsible in case of fire, theft, accident or providential destruction, although every precaution will be taken to prevent such occurrences.

Rabbits under 8 weeks of age will not be permitted in the showroom.

Any rabbits showing signs of disease will be immediately removed from the showroom to a designated “sick” area and any entry fees will be forfeited. Please be considerate of your fellow exhibitors and leave sick rabbits at home.

CHLC reserves the right to substitute or appoint judges.

There will be no refunds for scratches or no-shows.

No animals other than rabbits will be allowed in the showroom, except where required by law.

Parents are responsible for their children, and will be charged for any damage their children may cause. Unattended children will be asked to rejoin their parents.

No smoking or alcoholic beverages will be permitted in the showroom. For everyone's enjoyment, all exhibitors are urged to display the utmost respect and courtesy for the judges and each other.

For any issue not addressed in these show rules, the show chairperson and show superintendents will collaborate to create a fair solution.  All decisions will be final.
